Betty Carteret and Eric Shen will again offer their excellent class “Stressed Planet: Global Warming and Climate Change in the 21st Century” during the Anacortes Senior College’s winter quarter. The 6-week class meets Tuesdays, 3:30 to 5:30, at the Middle School starting January 15. Register here. (The schedule and registration information for the winter quarter should be online shortly.) The first three classes will look at basic science concepts, greenhouse gases, carbon cycle, emission sources, and projected impacts of global warming. The last three classes looks at alternative energy and transportation options, lifestyle choices, and what actions individuals, communities, and nations are taking to respond.
